LIFE IN WALLA WALLA IS JUST DUCKY

Who's going to argue with a duck this size about parking? Especially since it's part of Duck Derby Days in Walla Walla. Sponsored by the Exchange Club, it's an annual fundraising event to benefit children and young adults in the area through the Walla Walla Exchange Club Foundation. On May 16 a raft of 16,000 small plastic ducks will be released in Mill Creek near Walla Walla Community College to float to the finish line. Stay tuned to this blog for pictures of Mill Creek and Walla Walla Community College which, by the way, received the 2013 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence.

  1. That one's huge! It's a wonderful way to raise money! I'm already looking forward to 17 May when you show us all the little duckies! They did this here last year in Quimper and it was super fun!

  2. That is a big duck!

There was a similar thing done here years ago in the Canal, but I think other charitable events overshadowed it.

    1. Yes, but only three days at the end of the trip. I have my list of things to to-do and to see. We were there in 2013 for 10 days, so this will be a chance to see more off the beaten track things.
