SHORT OR TALL, YOUNG OR OLD, ON FOOT OR ON WHEELS

We Are a Diverse Nation of Immigrants

As different as each pair of footwear or mode of marching, so are the citizens of Walla Walla, our state of Washington, and these United States of America. Let's keep it that way. #defendDACA  #IsupportDACA  #heretostay

NO HATE, NO FEAR, IMMIGRANTS ARE WELCOME HERE

Keeping Families Together: Immigrant Rights Action

Saturday morning, 200+/- men, women, and children gathered behind the First Congregational Church to begin a march led by the Walla Walla Immigrant Rights Coalition. WWIRC is a highly diverse organization with members and supporters from different racial, ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic, and professional backgrounds.

The goal of WWIRC and today's march is to "promote unity and harmony among all of Walla Walla's residents and to foster a community free of violence and racism."

"What unites us is a commitment to ensuring the rights of immigrants. We educate immigrants in our community about their rights and offer them access to legal counseling, moral and social support." (actionnetwork.org)

Back at the start of the march, booths were set up to hand out information in order for participants to take action.
