DECEMBER 1, CDP THEME: GIFT

Life is a Gift

It's been seven months since Doug's post-surgery stroke on May 2,
and with every passing day I am personally aware how life is a precious gift.

He's come a long way from not knowing his own name or who I was,
to taking Bear on walks, exercising independently at the gym,
raking leaves, and even driving.

Doug is my best friend and partner of 16 years,
and his recovery is the best gift ever!

    1. Yes, that's Bear. He's too big to be a lap dog, although he tries his best.

    1. Thank you. Considering the alternative, its best to appreciate what we have at the moment.

  9. I'm so happy Doug is recovering so well. He's come a long way, and some with strokes aren't ever able to recover this much. I'm glad you still have your friend at your side. That is a wonderful gift.

    1. Yes, he is. I appreciate your kind words. We also know that it could have been much worse; so for that we are fortunate.

    1. Yes, I like that idea, Grace, about second chances. Some aren't as fortunate.
